I live on the sunny Central Coast of California, exactly between Los Angeles and San Francisco - just 25 miles from several of the best beaches on the West
Coast. San Luis Obispo is 27 miles from Paso Robles. The world-famous Hearst Castle is located just steps from the beach.
The radio market is the most "over-radioed" one in the entire country - with 26 stations serving a population of 250,000 people. There are only 2
independent stations here ... the rest are owned by the likes of Clear Channel, American General Media & Mapleton Communications. Arbitron rates the market
twice a year.
I have lived here for 20 years. Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, I started my radio career in 1968 at WAMS, then WILM, before moving to Allentown, PA to work
at WAEB. I worked at WIFI-92 in Philadelphia, then in Chester at WEEZ and WQIQ, before going back to Wilmington at WDEL.
I moved to Memphis to develop and program six 24/7 automated music formats for over 100 markets large and small for the William B. Tanner Co. for several
years, as well as being involved in jingle production and sales. Part-time, I worked at WQUD (Quad 104) - a soft A/C format in Memphis while at the Tanner Co.
I have station management experience in Little Falls, MN - Tyler, TX - Lancaster, CA & Paso Robles, CA
For 10 years, I have been a part of the ownership of the 440 Satisfaction (440int.com) web site since 1997, as a contributing writer to "Those Were the
Days" and other areas of the popular web site, based in Hawaii. I am a VP of the company owned and operated by KHJ legend, Johnny Williams, also of KGB,
KIMN & WTAE.
